The most successful blog breeds a community of readers that keeps coming back to check for new posts, and even to revisit old but substantial articles. You have to find a way to track all those readers, so that, shall I say, things can get more personal. The most successful tracking tool that takes the imprint of all your visitors is MyBlogLog. If you’re an avid reader of blogs like www.yugatech.com/blog or you have visited my tutorial blog www.guitartutee.com, then you have probably noticed already of a sidebar widget which contains these little pictures of the sites’ visitors. That’s MyBlogLog.

    1) Go to their website. http://www.mybloglog.com

    2) Follow the procedure.

    3) Don’t forget to upload your picture.

    4) On your profile page, click on “Add a Blog/Site That I author.” Add your blog details to create your community.

    5) It will provide you with a tracking code for your blog. Log-in to your website. On the Dashboard, go to Presentation->Theme Editor and proceed to editing your header.php file. Paste the tracking code right before the < title > code.

    6) Go to the Widgets section under Communities and proceed on adding the Recent Readers widget on your blog. Customize the color of your widget an get the code. Paste this code on where you want to put it on your blog, preferably the sidebar.

    7) Click on your Community and go to Settings. Enable ClickTagging to track and rank the out clicks.

    Usually, I put this widget under my Community sidebar. Of course it is entirely up to you with your website.

    Reminder: if you’re using a home computer, make MyBlogLog remember you on your first log-in. This way, your picture will be seen on every blog that you will visit, and other users, even just those websites’ visitors, will know you were there.
