After successfully choosing your topic and your domain name, you should now register your website.  This seems like the most daunting task for the beginner web publisher, especially the Filipino, but believe me, it’s the easiest task so far.  You only need to have one thing: a little amount of money.

Since you are reading this, I am assuming that you know nothing (or at most only a little) about domain registration and web hosting.  The easiest way to do so is to use a service like PlogHost, where all of my websites are currently hosted.  Ploghost does two things for you: it offers to register your domain for only P600 a year, and it gives you the web hosting package for as low as P75 a month.  I suggest you choose the lowest package first and just upgrade in the future when necessary.  Minimum first time payment is P825 pesos for quarterly payment(3months x P75 + P600 Domain registration) and subsequent payments of P225 every quarter.  That’s less than P2000 for your website for the whole year!  After choosing the package, click on ORDER NOW! and Ploghost will contact you for the next steps through e-mail.  The payment can be via Bank, Cash, Check, Paypal or Credit Card, in much the same way you pay your regular household bills.  After receiving your payment, Ploghost will send you your account details (IP Address, FTP/Cpanel usernames and passwords, guides).  It takes only days to process everything so assume that in a week, you would have your brand new shiny website.

  5. Register on Ploghost and submit your payment information for verification.
